Foot traffic is usually safe after 24–48 hours. For driveways or heavy loads, it's best to wait at least 7 days, with full strength reached after 28 days.
When properly installed and maintained, concrete can last 25–50 years or more, depending on weather, usage, and the type of finish applied.
Will my concrete crack?
Yes — all concrete cracks. It’s a natural part of the curing and settling process due to shrinkage, temperature changes, and ground movement. To help manage this, we add control joints in every project, which are designed to guide where cracks occur so they stay controlled and minimal. We also reinforce our pours with wire mesh to add strength and reduce the risk of structural cracking. That said, even with proper prep and reinforcement, hairline cracks can still appear over time — they’re normal and usually cosmetic, not structural.
Concrete is low maintenance, but a few simple steps can help extend its life and keep it looking great. We recommend sealing your concrete every 2–3 years, especially for decorative or stamped finishes. Avoid using harsh chemicals or de-icing salts, particularly in winter, as they can damage the surface. Regular cleaning with a mild detergent and water helps prevent staining and buildup. If you notice any cracks or wear, addressing them early can prevent larger issues down the line.
